Keenan Henderson Posted March 13, 2023 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Duke has been up and down this year, as one would expect from a talented young team. They started the year 17-8 and really struggled with shooting 3s and turning the ball over. Those are the keys for an Eagle victory: force turnovers and keep Duke at a low percentage on 3s (say 20%). The Blue Devils do not have a typical top 3 pick/superstar this year such as a Zion Williamson or Grant Hill type. They are a more balanced team that has 5 or 6 guys that can hurt you. darrenj Posted March 13, 2023 Share Posted March 13, 2023 Connor can't get in foul trouble and also if he can step out and hit 1 or 2 threes early that will open everything for the guards to get in the lane a bit. Just stay close in 2nd half and a young team like Duke will start to feel the pressure. The biggest thing for ORU is i don't think they will get rattled with all the experience. they have. Hit 12 to 15 3s for the game and they can do it. Duke will get some easy buckets by the basket but don't help them with and ones and foul trouble! They are going to get some really easy baskets but just don't get in foul trouble while they are doing it. Also, get the ball out after made baskets and get down the court and create open shots. theeagleman5 Posted March 13, 2023 Share Posted March 13, 2023 TheEagleman just wants to say this....here we are 50 some years into playing D-1 ball at ORU and THIS game is arguably the BIGGEST one we will have played to date.....THIS is what the man himself Oral Roberts dreamed of when he formed this university and its' basketball team.....DUKE on CBS National TV in PRIME TIME....it doesn't get any bigger than this vs. again arguably the most prominent college basketball program of the past 40 years...millions will be watching and ORU will be center stage....a chance to enlighten every basketball fan in America about our small Christian university in Tulsa Oklahoma....no, we are not in Utah......so it all comes down to....are these guys up to the task? Well, we will know in a little over 72 hours.....Duke is good and has been playing some very fine ball over the past month....yeah, Coach K is retired now and they don't have a super star but Duke is still a top 25 team and most everyone expects them to beat ORU.... There's not a thing we can do about it but go out and win the natty. O.R. has a 7'5" center who only weighs about 225 pounds. No way to compare him to Edey accept height which may help Lively prepare for the height. We should get by O.R. with no problem but can't them lightly and we all kniw that. I see us beating Tenn. As for Purdue they beat us soundly but we are a totally different team now. Much better than when they beat us and they are not looking forward to playing us and are hoping we get knocked off just like we are hoping to see them gone. If we do play them and beat them we for sure should make it to the final four and after that we can win it all. Have to play like we have the last 8 games.
