Old Titan
Might also be cool to bring in a former rival, such as Valpo, or maybe Greg Kampe’s Oakland Grizzlies (who clocked ORU in Rochester with 52 second-half points in Paul Mills’ second season). Or maybe for Doc Hughes’ benefit they could bring in Stephen F(reaking) Austin!

There are a LOT of things to celebrate that night: Refurbished Mabee Center, inside & out Unveiling of the Summit League championship banner Unveiling of the Sweet Sixteen banner Appreciation of Max Abmas for returning to school Appreciation of Paul Mills for signing new contract Appreciation of returning lettermen who contributed to last year's postseason success If not OSU or TU, sure hoping it's a premier opponent; or at least a local rival: Wichita State, Missouri State, etc. Here's a look at Wichita State's schedule so far. The Shockers are reportedly still looking to add a couple of non-conference road games; opening day for this coming NCAA basketball season is Tuesday, November 9th: Friday, Nov. 19 — vs. Arizona (at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas) Sunday, Nov. 21 — vs. Michigan or UNLV (at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas) Friday, Nov. 26 — at Missouri Wednesday, Dec. 1 — at Oklahoma State Sunday, Dec. 5 — vs. Kansas State (at Intrust Bank Arena) Saturday, Dec. 11 — vs. Norfolk State Tuesday, Dec. 14 — vs. Alcorn State Saturday, Dec. 18 — vs. North Texas Wednesday, Dec. 22 — vs. Prairie View A&M And this year's Courtside Countdown should be really special!!! ORU40
Since it's now looks more & more unlikely we are going to get another Power 5 team to come into the Mabee Center this season, the Ok St. game is huge!! If we are only playing 2 Power 5 teams in the non-conference schedule and only one of those at home they need a win or 2 in those games to really keep the excitement and momentum going for the students, local media and casual fans. Unfortunately, the questions the players and coach's are going to get sick of very quickly are "are they as good without KO" and can they get back into the tourney or beat good teams without him? Beating Ok St. early in the season ends all that, it is an instate win against a Power 5 team with a big fan base in Tulsa. It puts KO in the rearview mirror(not in a bad way, but allowing the team to move on), keeps fan interest soaring, keeps them on top of the fold in the local media and gets some nation attention (particularly if Max has a monster game!!). Not to mention it would be a huge boost to recruiting. Plus it's just a lot of fun beating Oklahoma State!! Go Eagles!!!!
eagle88
Scott is a really good guy. I used to go to some practices and he always made me feel welcome. I hope everyone gives him a good reception at the Mabee Center.
theeagleman5
Totally agree, 88....ORU needs to do something to honor Scott that night.....leave the issues from 5 years ago in the past....it's old news.....Scott helped bring ORU basketball back at the turn of the century.... EagleManiac
I'll be shocked and very disappointed if they don't give us an opportunity to stand up and thank Scott for all he did at ORU. Wish they didn't have to schedule it the day after Thanksgiving, so students could be there, but it may be a good night for families to get out after being stuck inside for a couple of days.
