Old Titan
In one of those "no-wonder-they-suck" moves, Iowa State names former player and Minnesota Timberwolves executive Fred Hoiberg as head coach. Hoiberg went straight from playing in the NBA to the Timberwolves front office - he not only has never been a head coach at the D-1 level, he's never coached at any position, at any level, anywhere. But, he did receive more votes than any other candidate in a Des Moines Register online poll where fans could vote on who they wanted as their next coach. "That's good enough for me - get that man on the phone and give him several million dollars over the next few years!!"
