wakeflip1
Let's just all agree and pray that this kid signs with us. No crossing our fingers here, just pure faith baby!

ORUTex
Didn't Jeremy Hazell also attend the Patterson School? Yes. He's proudly featured on their D-1 players page: http://www.pattersonschool.org/athletics/prepbasketball/D1_Players.htm
Old Titan
OK, let's all take a deeeep breath. Hate to burden the poor guy with too many unrealistic expectations right out of the box. But here's the stuff we do know: A freshman signee - can't get enough of those. Comes from an excellent program at The Patterson School. He's either left-handed or ambidextrous - either way, he seems to be equally adept with either hand. Appears to be a great passer with good court vision. Looks very aggressive in all of the videos, goes full speed all the time. Looks like he could benefit from the weight room. Has the sort of "flash" in his game that could put butts in the seats. For all we know this kid could redshirt next year - but he sure does look promising in all those clips!
ORUTerry
From the Charlotte message board... 2nd all-time in North Carolina high school history in 3-pointers made? 1st all-time in North Carolina high school history in free throws made? If this is true - that is quite remarkable. Welcome to Oral Roberts University Hunter McClintock!

Just what the doctor ordered on the perimeter - can't wait to see some crossover-step-back alley-oop passes to Ford and Bell-Holter. ...haha

He can come in and learn from Pearson, Stokes, Morrison, Rogers and Holdman - or maybe teach them some things.

OKC Eagle
Holy cow: MARAVICH LIVES!! Just what the doctor ordered on the perimeter - can't wait to see some crossover-step-back alley-oop passes to Ford and Bell-Holter. He said in the interview video that people compare him to Maravich. Very good interview.

OKC Eagle
Random thoughts: 1. If something sounds to good to be true, . . . it must be a miracle. In the interview from about a month ago, he said nothing about ORU. The coach sounds surprised in the article. I can't wait to hear his recruiting story. Seems faith must play a part. 2. His multiple 3/4 court passes in that second video are amazing, looks like a QB. I wonder if a turnover video could also be made (e.g. high risk, high reward, high failure?). I'd like to think not. 3. He shoots deep with his left and seems to prefer it, but he can score under the basket with either hand. In the interview video he said he is ambidextrous and that he used to be able to pitch with both arms. I think lefties create problems for defenses used to covering righties. 4. I was talking to ORU Tex recently about how long its been since we have had a really good point guard that could also shoot (ever?). He could be the missing link to really move us forward. 5. When can we order our season tickets for next year? I'll pay now. Any new message board members from that part of the country? Welcome to ORU Hunter! Texasgrip
Rotnei who? (insert obligatory "birdsnest" defense here): _____________________________________________________________________ Hey, I don't care that he went elsewhere...but there was 20 page thread on here about how great Rotnei was, and I want to know how this guy compares at first look... OKC Eagle
So what happened between last year (KU, NC ST, Arizona, etc.) and now? Reality check? From http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=76053&season=2009&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncb%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fplayer%3frecruitId%3d76053%26season%3d2009: Evaluation January, 2009: McClintock has success when he plays the role of specialist for his team, coming off the bench to connect on 3s when his club needs a bucket from downtown. He does not have great quickness and struggles when he has to initiate offense for his club, especially when opposing defenders harass and get into him. When he plays off the ball and receives the ball off dribble penetration, this lefty will knock-down jumpers from well beyond 3-point land. McClintock plays hard and gets the most out of his ability, but he struggles some when challenged off the bounce by opposing ball-handlers. He seems best suited to play the 2, though he does not have ideal size or quickness for the slot.
Dr. Cornelius
Whoever wrote the eval that McClintock "does not have great quickness and has struggles when has to initiate offense..." probably thought Steph Curry didn't weigh enough to play at NC State.
