If Max wanted to keep playing college bball, does he have eligibility to stay for a 5th year? Covid year?

Max could play a fifth year of college ball in 23-24 anywhere, as his "COVID year".

He is on record that this is his last year at ORU.  He's been mum on what his plans for next year might otherwise be.

ORU Scoring Leaders (1/18/22)

Greg Sutton 3070
Richard Fuqua 3004
Caleb Green 2503
Anthony Roberts 2341
Max Abmas 2211
Dominique Morrison 2080

If my math is correct, from today Max needs 130 points to pass No. 4 Anthony Roberts and 292 points to catch No. 3 Caleb Green.

That would require an average of 24.3 points per game over the remaining 12 regular season contests to reach Caleb.

Max is at 2,260 points after the UND game.  He should pass Anthony Roberts during the USD game on Monday, 1/30 if Max averages 27 points over the next three home games.  Otherwise he passes this milestone in the KC game on 2/4.

On the all-time conference scoring front, Max moved to No. 8 on Saturday.

Next up is No. 7 Tony Bennett (yes, that Tony Bennett who coaches Virginia) of Wisconsin-Green Bay at 2,285 and No. 6 Alex Young of IUPUI at 2,286.

  • Max concludes the three-game homestand with 2,334 career points.
  • He is just 7 points shy of No. 4 Anthony Roberts for career scoring at ORU.
  • He passes No. 5 Mike Helms of Oakland on the Mid-Con/Summit League all-time scoring list
  • Next up is No. 4 Nate Wolters of South Dakota State at 2,352 points.
