Doug Gottleib just ripped the NCAA on ESPN for putting in Xavier, South Florida and Iona over ORU.....heck, ORU BEAT Xavier by 20 on their home floor.....sorry but based on the Bracket TheEagleman is looking at....how do the previously mentioned schools along with Cal and BYU get in ahead or Oral Roberts?....geez.....it's not right but that's the way they do it...... |( .....by the way, maybe ORU should have a "Doug Gottleib Night" early next season at one of our games?....or invite him to speak at a chapel..... ;-)

Jacks (and Summit League) get no love. They deserve better than #14 and against Baylor in Albuquerque. Home game for the Bears.

Some thoughts on the bracket:

Looks like ORU was a distant third in that three team race for that at-large spot.

Funny to hear Seth Davis talk about Iona getting in because of their great OOC SOS, telling mid-majors to schedule better. Which is kind of hilarious.

ORU was the victim of some bad breaks, and losing the PR battle to 2 east coast teams. If ORU scores a basket in the last 8 minutes against WIU, we're probably in. Heartbreaking.

Joe Lunardi nearly realized his dream of getting every Big East team into the tournament.

Texas and South Florida get in with a combined 26 losses.

Other than Iona, the selection committee again kind of gives non-major teams the shaft. Creighton wins the Valley and gets an 8/9 game, and potentially a matchup with UNC. And Wichita State gets a Bracketbuster type matchup with VCU.

I'm not sure we realize how big all this bubble talk has actually been. We were 1 team away from an AT-LARGE bid---that's pretty big in my book friends. Our program is rising and I predict very bright years ahead of us.

Great points, Alum. Our whole resume would have been different with a healthy DBH at WVU and UTSA and a basket or two (or free throws) against Gonzaga or WIU in the semifinals of the Tournament. We won some close games that we possibly shouldn't have won, but we did due to our veteran, experienced line up. Hopefully this will pay dividends when we're going through the NIT in the next few weeks.

Also, noticed that Lamar got a play-in game for winning the Southland. If we don't have a stellar OOC schedule, we are destined for those "First Four" games in the future.
