How about Oakland, Jones and Benson will be tough. I still can't believe they didn't keep going to Benson, he was killing us and our only big(Moormann) was in foul trouble.

EXACTLY!

Same scenario in Tulsa a week ago. NDSU down and for some UNEXPLAINED REASON, neither he Eagles or Grizz POUND IT INSIDE on EVERY POSSESION in the seond half?!?!?!?

NDSU is not any better than ORU & Oakland, just smarter, play with poise when behind, and have CLEARLY the highest b-ball IQ in the league this year.

And, still can't figure out why one of our teams didn't throw some zone or box & 1 at Woodside. Keep him from penetrating and your chances of beating NDSU INCREASE DRAMATICALLY!!! UGH!

Post-game thoughts (for what it's worth):

Very entertaining game, both offenses at times looked like they could score at will.  Never felt that way about our line-up at any time this year.

I thought Oakland got tired down the stretch; started settling for quick shots instead of working for the high-percentage jumper or inside shot.  NDSU makes you work so hard on defense all game long, it starts to wear you down late in the game on both ends of the floor.

Oakland should get an NIT berth - they really are a nice team, but Kampe really needs to learn how to coach with a big lead, even when his guys are running on fumes.  This isn't the first time they've blown a big lead in a big game.

Woodside is the difference maker once again - they have no idea how much they will miss him next year (that is, until they lose a few in a row).

Don't understand why Jones, on the last-second shot, backed into the high-post pick instead of picking Woodside up at half-court to disrupt his rhythm - you don't have to foul him, but at least make him work for his shot:  he got a free look!

The crowd was pretty decent considering the weather - might have sold out if I-29 hadn't been closed.  Stupid location for a post-season tournament - was Tierra Del Feugo already booked?

The refs were good - always kind of liked Bo Boroski, even if he did have it in for Caleb Green most nights.

Dave Bartlett and Tim Welsh are no Ron Franklin and Fran Fraschilla - guess they drew the short straws at the ESPN production meetings ("OK, who wants three airline connections and Arctic weather in South Dakota?")  Got pretty tired of hearing how Oakland lost to us in the finals last year, but probably not as tired of it as Ron Hunter- it was of course IUPUI we beat in last years final.

I've not been all that impressed with Boroski - he makes lame calls at times, but he's not as much of a slacker as some we've got in the conference.  Two of the three last night were great officials, and maybe some of their professionalism rubbed off on Bo.  We don't always get stellar officials in the championship - one year we had Frank Spencer ref it, and he's a joke.  But overall that was a good crew last night, and they did a very nice job.

On the announcers, was there any question in your mind at the end of the night that Jonathan Jones led the nation in assists?  Was that the ONLY stat that leapt off the page at those guys?

They probably have only 1 or 2 (max) "notes/stats" about each guy on the team, that were given to them at gametime.
