Three years probation - could have been a lot worse, right?

Here's hoping he gets the help he needs as he moves on to the next chapter in his life.

Well.....TheEagleman wishes the best for Steven and also hopes that he gets things turned around.....sounds like a generous sentence probably given because he was remorseful and had no prior arrest history....wonder what he will do now.....hummmmm....a 6-8 PF with nothing better to do.....we could sure use one of those next season.......just sayin'....... :?:

Unfortunately, Steven's problems stretch back beyond his run in with the law.  He was inconsistent with his school work, his workouts, practices, meetings, etc. this entire past year.  He was suspended for a game in the first semester, and was in fact suspended from the team for unspecified reasons before the incident with his girlfriend.

You hate to cut a guy loose if you can help him, especially if being involved with a team would give his life structure.

But, the fact of the matter is, he HAD that structure this past year, with a LOT of people trying to help him, and it just didn't seem to work.

At some point, you realize maybe he needs help beyond which he can get (or should reasonably expect) within the context of competing as an NCAA D-1 student-athlete.

You are totally correct, OT....I was just joking above......ORU has given Tree every opportunity to turn things around and he apparently didn't have the self discipline to do so....let's hope and pray that the kid uses this situation (and lenient sentence) as a learning tool and gets his life back on track....at this point the basketball team has to move and concentrate on the players who are in school and on the roster....TheEagleman is looking forward to practice getting underway in less than 90 days...in fact, the schedule should be out any day now...... :nerd:

Rountree lands at Graceland University in Iowa (NAIA).  If his head and life are right, he should dominate at that level.
