TU goes down 61-75. Couldn't hang and never really were in this game; practically behind by double-digits before they even got to double-digits!

Stuck with Woj. :(

Congrats to Houston on a big upset win....first time to the tournament in 18 yrs....too bad the building was 2/3 empty....that BOK Center looks like a very nice venue...how old is it and how many does it seat?....TheEagleman is just wondering what it's used for and why Tulsa has 3 large arenas with 10,000+ seating capacity in Mabee Center, Reynolds and the BOK?.....seems like an awful lot for one moderate sized city.... :!:

That was in interesting ending to a game. UTEP seemed to get rattled by the pressure. They had AMPLE opportunities to get back in it but couldn't get a shot to drop.

BOK Center first opend a year ago September, I believe, and it seats about 18,000. It is currently the first or second in ticket sales in the country for traveling acts. We've seen the Eagles twice, Elton John and Billie Joel, Paul McCartney, Kiss, Eric Clapton was here last week, numerous country acts . . . the list is quite long. Everybody wants a piece of the Tulsa pie.

It is also the new home of the WNBA Shock, who just added former Olympian Marion Jones to their roster.

BTW, Reynolds center seats 8,355.

This wasn't at the BOK, BUT - after leading at the half TU just lost to Kent State by one point 75-74. Going to be some unhappy Hurricanes around town!!!

So how did Coach Wojcik react after the game?....TheEagleman guesses that he wasn't pleased with this loss at Kent State.... |(

Not sure how their fans think they are going to be better next year. You lose 2 fringe NBA guys and you are going to be better.

Medder suffers torn ACL and they are really counting on Clarkson the freshman from Texas next year. He is good but that is a lot of pressure on him.

The transfers are solid players but not Jordan or Uzoh.

So do you think ORU will be as good or better than TU next season?.. :geek:

Here is the interview if you want to listen. There's some frustration but not really any anger. He said that they were a good team but never got to the point of being a great team. Possibly a sense of relief that the season is over? Or maybe he's just trying to be positive about the future. Surely no coach of a team in the position TU was in would be relieved to have the season over. Probably more like just trying to put a positive spin on the days to come. But none of the anger that characterized some of his post-game interviews earlier in the season.

Well, TU had a decent season....my congrats to them for at least making the NIT and they did beat ORU fair and square in our building...they were better than us in 2009-10....TheEagleman looks forward to playing them next season with McClintock, Pearson and a more seasoned DBH.... ;)

Eagleman,

I think ORU has a lot less questions about their team next year. Hopefully can add 1 or 2 players in the spring to help out for next year.

I hope so, Darren....that kid Antsomewine isn't going to help much....TheEagleman is still scratching his head over that signing.....Cabrini where he played here in Philly couldn't beat good HS teams in the area.....why would Sutton go after that kid?.... :worried:
