They should be on the list of those "respectively scrambling for their regional-hosting lives" as many had them as the 16 seed hosting. I do have to believe this bracket projection was a bit although I can guarantee you no one from the other three schools is laughing.
Bogus Smith Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 D!Baseball's latest Projection of the 64 teams has ORU the #4 seed in Fayetteville, AR with La Tech and K-State. That would be a good one to get into and much better than facing DBU, UO and OSU that have an ax to grind with us. 2024 D1Baseball Field of 64 Projections: May 24 • D1Baseball 3
ORUJason Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 Although Arkansas would be a very difficult opponent to move past in order to win a regional.
ORUJason Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Collegesportsmadness.com projects ORU as a 4 seed at Texas A&M, with Texas as a 2 seed and Lamar as a 3 seed. Collegesportsmadness.com Projection 1

Collegesportsmadness.com Projection That would match us up with our old pitching coach, Sean Snedeker, who is the pitching coach at Lamar.
ORUTex Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Regional sites were announced tonight: The 16 regional sites, with host institutions and records are as follows: Athens, Georgia – Georgia (39-15) Chapel Hill, North Carolina – North Carolina (42-13) Charlottesville, Virginia – Virginia (41-15) Clemson, South Carolina – Clemson (41-14) Bryan-College Station, Texas – Texas A&M (44-13) Corvallis, Oregon – Oregon State (42-14) Fayetteville, Arkansas – Arkansas (43-14) Greenville, North Carolina – East Carolina (43-15) Knoxville, Tennessee – Tennessee (50-11) Lexington, Kentucky – Kentucky (40-14) Norman, Oklahoma – Oklahoma (37-19) Raleigh, North Carolina – NC State (33-20) Santa Barbara, California – UC Santa Barbara (42-12) Stillwater, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State (40-17) Tallahassee, Florida – Florida State (42-15) Tucson, Arizona – Arizona (36-21) https://www.ncaa.com/news/baseball/article/2024-05-26/sixteen-regional-sites-selected-2024-ncaa-di-baseball-championship 1

That now means three regionals west of the Great Plains as opposed to only two (Corvallis and Santa Barbara) that had been predicted And, based on what we saw this weekend, all 16 of the No. 1 Seeds are going to bed tonight with the same thought keeping them awake: “Please don’t give us Dallas Baptist as a No. 2”.

Haha! And, ORU has three sites to be sent to that would save on travel costs - Norman, Stillwater, and Fayetteville. All three locations have familiarity to the Golden Eagles that could provide them with comfort of their surroundings. With ORU's RPI and SOS, they should be a #4 against one of the top 8 national seeds. Hopefully it won't be to College Station just for travel reasons. Regardless, we should have the 6:00 game in any of the locations as the host team gets to select their preferred time to play.

If I were a betting man, here’s where I put my money on ORU’s destination: WIN - Fayetteville PLACE - Norman SHOW - College Station LONG SHOT - Stillwater 1

Now, watch us get sent to Santa Barbara.

The selection committee has never been one for respecting a mid- or low-major program, but not every mid-major program has gone through a season like ours and earned its way into a NCAA regional like we have this year. Those on the selection committee (and their friends) in the top eight may not want to deal with a hot ORU team and hope that ORU could knock off a #1 seed in one of the lower eight to give the higher seeded #1 seed a clearer path to Omaha. 1
ORob2 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2024-ncaa-baseball-tournament-bracket-final-projected-field-of-64/ Baseball America sends us back to Stillwater along with Nebraska and Georgia Tech. Almost time
Old Titan Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 Part of my insistence that it's Fayettevile rests in the fact that Kendall Rogers, long-time college baseball guru and bracketologist, has consistently slotted ORU in the Arkansas Regional. Here are his picks for the local sites: FAYETTEVILLE Arkansas Louisiana Tech Kansas State Oral Roberts STILLWATER Oklahoma State Dallas Baptist Alabama Tulane NORMAN Oklahoma Vanderbilt Connecticut SE Missouri State COLLEGE STATION, TX Texas A&M Texas Nicholls State Grambling
theeagleman5 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 TheEagleman thinks we need a rubber match vs. OU in Norman next weekend....would be fun to watch! 1
Otis 83 Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I’ll be darned. Like OT, I was sure we were headed to Fayetteville.
