Summit League Tournament

SDSU has won 7 in a row and should be a big favorite tomorrow night.  They beat Denver 97-70 less than a month ago.  Hoping for an upset and Denver makes their first ever trip to the NCAA tournament.

Tommy Bruner deserves a shot in the NCAA Tournament. I’m rooting for Denver!

I am rooting for Denver but if the Jacks win they are predicted to be a 16 seed and play Houston. Bye bye Jacks.

Denver has turned things around with defense, only allowing 62 points in the tournament.  Coming into March, they were one of the worst teams on defense, giving up 82 points per game.  Can they slow SDSU down? We shall see tonight.

Denver has found lightning in a bottle: they were 2-8 coming into the tournament and Bruener was injured (he missed a week of practice).  Even ORU beat them twice this year!  The Pioneers were picked 9th in the preseason Summit League polls!

Denver fought back but trailed 27-7 early on and it was pretty much over after that.  SDSU is talented and will most likely be a 15 or 16 seed.  Not saying they will win but I think they can give a top seed a competitive match, maybe lose by 10-15 points.

TheEagleman would wager that the Jacks get a 15 seed.....lots of worse teams will qualify.....:sdsu:

Honestly, its hard for me to admit this, but basketball wise, SDSU is who we aspire to be or "think we are". Consistently top 3 in the conference, frequent championships and tourney trips, solid coaching, recruiting and development etc etc

SDSU is a solid program that has maintained its identity over several coaching changes.

They are fundamentally sound and you can watch their players develop year by year.

SDSU has done it consistently over the years whereas ORU usually has runs of 3 good seasons: Green and Tutt (3 year run 2004-07) and Max plus friends (2020-23).  In the end, very few teams at the mid major level stay consistently at the top.  If everybody could do it then we would have a multitude of Gongoza's out there but there is only one.

And the Zags got whipped by St. Marys the other night.....but Gonzaga will still be a 5 or 6 seed in the Tourney.....they are very good....just not a Top 4 seed this season......😎
