..so who would we rather fact tomorrow night??....Bison or Jacks??? :sdsu:

For me, that’s an easy answer.  SDSU had one player on the Summit First Team list, and he’s injured and out for the season.  And, avoiding NDSU on their home turf in front of the Fargo Faithful Fans would be a plus.

That said, I’m sure ORU can be successful against either opponent, but playing SDSU would have its advantages.

Meanwhile, unsettling news Wednesday on the regional front as potential hosts Texas and Oklahoma State both lost in the first round of the Big XII tournament in Arlington, TX.

No clue at all what it might mean for ORU if either/both make early exits in that tournament; other than it doesn't help their chances to host a regional, leaving only Arkansas wirthin a reasonable drive for ORU fans otherwise.

Exciting times for ORU Baseball with a 44-11 record heading into tonight's game vs. SDSU....obviously a HUGE match up for the Good Guys since a victory puts us in the Championship game where we just have to win once for the Summit Title....a loss tonight and we head to the Losers Bracket where we would have to win 3 times to be Champions....makes it hard on the pitching....so a victory tonight and ORU will be in tremendous shape to advance to the regionals......16 straight wins is impressive....if we can get to 18 straight it might be hard for the selection committee to avoid giving a 46-11 ORU team that coveted 3 seed in the Regionals no matter what happens elsewhere.....:tb-white:

Are we really looking at a #3 or #4 seed as a Top 10 team?

Not even the most ardent of Golden Eagle fans on this board would suggest that ORU is a top ten team.  But, it sure is nice to get the positive recognition to market the school and the program.

And, I think ORU has an excellent opportunity to earn a #3 seed.

Updates:  In an elimination game, NDSU leads Omaha 5-0 in the 4th in wind-blown Fargo this afternoon (steady 20-mph winds forecast for today and tomorrow, blowing straight out to left field).

And in NCAA Regionals hosting news, Texas is two-and-BBQ in Arlington following a weak 2-hit loss to Kansas State earlier today, 6-0.  So scratch Austin as a possible host.

Oklahoma State is still in the running to host IF they can manage a couple of wins in the losers bracket; they lead West Virginia is an elimination game 2-1 in the 3rd from Arlington.

And, dark-horse hosting candidate Dallas Baptist throtled Rice in the Conference USA first-round in Houston Wednesday; they face Western Kentucky in winner's bracket play tonight.

After jumping out to that 5-0 lead, the Bison left the door ajar and Omaha kicked it in with 6 runs in the last four innings including the tying run in the bottom of the 9th.  Extra innings in the Losers Bracket!

NDSU beats Omaha, 7-6 in 12 innings. Hope they used up all of their pitching

If I interpret the box score correctly both the tying run and the winning run reached on walks.
