Ting Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 So we made it here. What are we going to do in the NCAA Tourney? We all know draws and matchups will be really important, so for this discussion - 1. from now until selection Sunday watch party - Which teams would we like to see , and which would give us the most trouble? 2. after selection Sunday - how do we feel about our draw, and which matchups can we win with, which will be difficult for us?
Dr. Cornelius Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Potential 5 seeds: Iowa St. Miami San Diego St. TCU Potential 6 seeds: St. Mary's Texas A&M Duke Kentucky Of course these teams projected by Bracket Matrix may be incorrect but I would rather face Iowa St. or St. Mary's. Duke, Miami, or TCU would really be difficult. 1
Ting Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 Jerry Palm has a nice breakdown of teams and their records. here are the 4,5,6 projections I have not scouted other teams yet, but will be doing so Sunday night Lunardi for today has interesting storylines , but a tough draw for us playing Mills Alma Mater Tx AM first round and then Kansas St in the 2nd only one more updated projection before seeing projections become reality
Old Titan Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 For the life of me, I can not fathom why Tennessee is a 4-seed. They’re in a free fall this last part of the season. In the big picture, 4-Seeds matter to a No. 12 ORU: presumably, that would be a second-round opponent.

With Lunardi telling coach mills we have a slight chance at an 11, sounds like your dream draw would be us moving up to an 11 and getting Tennessee as a 3 1
Ting Posted March 11, 2023 Author Posted March 11, 2023 I think we feel St Mary’s would give us a winnable first round game, but we can probably count that possibility out. bracket rules seek to avoid non conference rematches in the first round
ron Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 How can I tell that I live in Canada today? Instead of showing a bunch of final conference basketball games, TSN, our #1 sports network, has filled its offering schedule with curling. While I believe curling has its place, I don't think this is it. It looks like I'll be watching some YouTube summaries of key games instead in order to prepare for potential matchups.

Curling is fun to watch for about 15 minutes every 4 years. 1 3 1
Keenan Henderson Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Watching Purdue on CBS today and their 7'4 beast of a center Zack Eddy. It would be interesting to see Connor vs Eddy in an NCAA tournament game. Maybe a Sweet 16 match up? Must see TV!
ron Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Yeah. The end to end action is there, but the pace is snail. Teams regularly take their best shot, and defense plays a huge roll.
#1ORUFAN Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Texas A&M vs. Vanderbilt at 2:00 pm on ESPN today. (TA&M -6.0) 1
ron Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I like where Joe Lunardi has us now, at least compared to where we were for the past few days.
ORUalum11 Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Curious on everyone’s travel plans… will you only go if the game is at a particular location or are you going / not going regardless?

That sounds unlikely, but I saw a Vegas site that showed ORU as a 13, and with more chance at a 14 than a 12. Shocking to me, but follow the $$$.
theeagleman5 Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 ORU won't be lower than 12.....hoping for an 11.....10 would be even better but probably not as likely.......
