Denver at ORU

Pioneers coming to Tulsa for a rematch of a relatively easy ORU victory on New Year's Eve in the Mile High City.....Denver is 12-10 and having an up and down year including a split in South Dakota last week.....ORU has had some slow starts at Mabee Center and TheEagleman would not be surprised if that happens again on Thursday Night.....but hopefully the Good Guys come to play from the opening tip as we open up a 3 game homestand.....still reviewing tape, films and analytics before making a game prediction sometime in the next 36 hours....GO BLUE!!!

Denver has height and is athletic. They are talented enough to beat us if we overlook them. Especially since every team that visits the Mabee Center seems to shoot lights out. I think this ORU team understands that they have a target on their backs. I’ve been impressed with how mature and unselfish this squad has been in dealing with game situations & opponents.

With the students back in Mabee Center for the first time since Mid-December the place should be loud and fun....plus we already know that TexasGrip will be rockin' loud and also a strong possiblity that Old Titan will return to his seat in Sect. 104......the combination of all those factors plus the fact that we have the better team should help drive the Golden Eagles to win #18....TheEagleman is not expecting the Pioneers to go away quietly and this should be a competitive game for at least 30 minutes....but too much Abmas, Vanover, Thompson, Jurgens, McBride, Weaver and Mwamba.....maybe even Phipps chips in with a couple long bombs....the Good Guys wear down the visitors and ORU rolls to victory......Max leads with 28......ORU 90  Denver 75.....GO BLUE!!! :Denver:  :shield-logo:

Denver and ORU is simply not a good matchup for the Pioneers.  While ORU ranks in the top ten in the country for offensive efficiency, Denver is in the bottom ten percent for defensive efficiency.  And, on the other side of the court, ORU’s weakest link has been in defending the three point line, where a hot-shooting long-range opponent could cause some damage.  That shouldn’t be a concern on Thursday night, as Denver is the #1 team in the country for the highest ratio of 2 point shot attempts vs. 3-point shots.  They simply prefer to shoot from short range, and the combo of Vanover, Weaver and Mwamba gave them fits in the previous game in the Mile High City.  Thursday night will be much more of the same, with an excited student section hyped up to enjoy the final five games of the home schedule.  ORU by 18+, unless Mills unloads the bench early.

ORU is a 17.5 point favorite so as usual @TrueBlue82 might be right on

ORU getting a ton of love from Vegas at -17.5....seems like a couple too many but we could cover that.... TheEagleman likes the Over at 157... expect a high scoring game....😎

Vegas $$$ pouring in on the Golden Eagles as the line INCREASES to ORU -19.  That’s a LOT of points, and must be among the largest Vegas spreads favoring ORU  in quite some time.

GAME DAY!!!...Of course TheEagleman is no longer a wagering fellow but if I were...that's too many points...ORU will win tonight but not by 20 or more...I still think this is a 10-15 point Golden Eagles victory and probably a high scoring affair...O/U dropped to 156...for amusement purposes only take the OVER...ORU 90  Denver 75.  :Denver:   :shield-logo:

It is funny how 6' 6" players and taller can look short compared to Connor.

Vanover is the ultimate chess piece.

With one of the tallest players in all of basketball on your roster it can really throw a wrench into opposing teams plans.

Did the actual story ever run on KJRH-2, or did the background shenanigans render the video unusable?

Those days are long gone. They went the way of the two handed set shot and the four corners offense. 😜
