Keenan Henderson
Defense has to improve in the second half: LIberty shooting 63% at the break. We have seen this before, where the team is challenged at halftime and comes out and plays tougher in the second half. Hopefully that happens again tonight. theeagleman5
We surely cant win with Liberty shooting 60%...thankfully the Flames have 11 turnovers helping to keep ORU close at half 42-38.

dave
It was good to see ORU shut down the back door cuts in the paint. And how important is Mwamba to this team? Wow!

theeagleman5
Very impressive 2nd half for ORU tonight....Liberty is a decent mid major and this win will get noticed...Max with 26 and four guys in double figures....Mwamba is a beast......84-70 final and outscoring the Flames by 18 in the final 20 minutes.....great defensive effort....ORU now 8-3 and bring on Missouri State! 1

Keenan Henderson
ORU had 13 steals and caused 20 turnovers! That is winning basketball. The Eagles seem to get better each game. ORU really took advantage of Liberty's smaller guards and were able to post up Carlos, Kareem, and McBride just about whenever they wanted. Great win!
OKC Eagle
That was the funnest game I have been to in a while. Our energy level was great the whole game. Once we figured out how to stop the back door cuts it was game over. 2
Keenan Henderson
Having Connor and Patrick on the front line in the second half really wore down the Flame. Connor's length/ablity to block shots and Patrick grabbing every loose ball is a nightmare for teams, especially as they get tired in the second half. I hope we see more of those two in the front court as we near conference play. McGhee is a real star. He went toe to toe with Max but ORU forced him into 7 turnovers, while Max had zero. That was a real difference maker tonight!
theeagleman5
Don't underestimate that 3 point shot by Max at the end of the first half which turned a 7 point deficit into a 4 point game at half....HUGE!!!!

Popular Post TrueBlue82
I’ve often critiqued Coach Mills’ in-game adjustments (or rather, lack thereof) and never thought of his ability with Xs and Os as a core strength. But, tonight, he and the staff tightened some things up at halftime, and vastly improved the defense in the second half. He also adjusted his normal rotation in the second half, as Phipps did not play, and Mwamba, Jurgens and Thompson had more playing time than usual, which improved the overall defensive effort. Kudos to Coach Mills for some very good coaching decisions tonight which played a huge role in earning the W. 2
tmh8286
It is pure joy watching this team. And they seem to be improving with every game.
Dr. Cornelius
Really don't understand why Liberty left the small guard (#0) in. He was getting absolutely exposed the post. It might have been a different game if they weren't giving that up almost every possession.
Keenan Henderson
This would be Coach Mills biggest win, outside of the run in March 2021. Liberty has won 20 plus games six seasons in a row. ORU has better players around Max this year then even the 21 team. Sir Isaac looked dressed and ready to go tonight. A hard match up to just throw him into after missing 10 games. Not sure when we will see him, as the next three home games will probaly be pretty close/evenly matched games.
Cletus
Mwanba's 3 pointers and Kareem's spin arounds to score were excellent.
