Old Titan
After posting earlier today I talked to one of my employees that lives close to the casino - I didn't realize that it was as close to Tulsa city limits as it is - I guess it's located on the north side of I-44, on the west side of 193rd E. Ave, which is the eastern border of Tulsa. So it may actually sit inside Tulsa city limits, right on the edge. I thought it was quite a bit further east. It's within the Catoosa school district and surrounded by the town of Catoosa, but is tribal land technically within ANY "city limits"? I mean, it's illegal to sell fireworks within the Tulsa city limits, but the Creek Casino at 81st and Lewis has a fireworks stand before every 4th of July and New Year's Eve. As for the timing of the road improvements: according to the Tulsa World a few months back, the Cherokee Tribe donated millions of dollars to the state to not only pay a major portion of the cost, but to also get the project moved up on the construction schedule: Lucky Day For Catoosa

Chevy Chase
Don't forget "To Write Love on Her Arms" at the Mabee Center (Cue crickets). Not to mention Shirley F. Caesar (Cue louder, angrier crickets).

Caesar (Cue louder, angrier crickets). Not sure about when SFC is playing, but TWLOHA is at Mabee Center tomorrow night, so technically doesn't fit in the above list (last Thurs. to today). Old Titan
We haven't seen anything yet when it comes to over-saturation: Cherokee Casino in Catoosa's long-range plan includes a 12,000-seat arena across the street to the east that will host everything from concerts to boxing/MMA events to rodeos - all within walking distance to the largest casino/hotel/resort in the state, with Oklahoma's only "Hard Rock Cafe". As soon as the intersection with I-44 gets fixed (approximately 2 years), they plan to officially announce. What did I tell you? Casino To Reopen Under Hard Rock Cafe Name - Tulsa World 12/14/08 The 2,500 seat theater is just the beginning. Expect the announcement of the larger 12,000+ seat arena across the street to come sometime in the next year. They've already cleared the land to the east, including the big RV park on the north side of Highway 412.
