titansforever
Way to go, Max! This is just the beginning...
Keenan Henderson
It is a great opportunity for Max. I think the Summer League is only 4 games, unless your team makes the playoffs. So, Max will have to strike fast as it is a very short time frame to impress the big bosses at Utah. Danny Ainge is their big boss and has a good eye for talent and helped build the champs, Boston Celtics, in the past. 1
Keenan Henderson
Utah Jazz announced their summer league roster and it has 16 players on it and 3 guys they drafted last week. I hope Max gets a chance to play next week as it may be hard to see much of the court next next week with that roster.
Old Titan
Sad to say, but the guys that these parent clubs really want to see need somebody else to practice against. It’s kinda like being a college walk-on, with similar expected playing time.
theeagleman5
Yeah his chances of hooking at Utah are Nil.....and not meaning NIL $$...Max should be here in Philly where we still need PGs and only have like 8 guys signed to contracts despite the Paul George and other moves this week.....Max would have an outside shot to make this roster or at least the G League Blue Coats......but I guess SLC is a lot nicer than Philadelphia....not that Max will ever arrive in Utah.....his agent needs to explore better options.....Europe maybe?? Abmas could be a star over in Turkey....

titansforever
Who else thinks the Bronny James deal is a joke? Max is a much better player!
Keenan Henderson
LeBron wants his son in the league and the Lakers want to keep James, so they draft Bronny. Yes it is nepotism but the Lakers know LBJ is good for business, ticket sales, merchandise and on and on. LeBron signed a 2 year deal today and then might retire. It will be interesting to see what happens to Bronny when that contract is up. I would be shocked if Bronny plays in a NBA game, unless it is a blowout/mop up minutes. Max is a great scorer and shooter but the rest of his game is average for the NBA. If he were 6'5 then Max would be a first round draft pick but he is only 5'11 but I still think he will get a shot in the G-League next season. Hopefully, he makes the best of that opportunity. 1
Idig32
The NBA is all about getting a shot. There are tons of players that are just as good as guys like Tre Mann, or Lindy Waters, to name a couple of former Thunder players. However, they don’t ever get a shot to play, so nobody ever finds out how good they are. I think Max might get a shot somewhere because his character sets him apart from other players. If he gets to be on a roster for a team that doesn’t really need a point guard, he probably won’t last long in the league. However, if he could get on the roster of a team like the 76ers, I could see him having an Austin Reaves type of career. Reaves was an older undrafted player out of OU, but he got a chance because the Lakers needed to fill out their roster for cheap and they needed point guards.
theeagleman5
Max would be a perfect fit on the Sixers roster....he is EXACTLY the kind of player who would fill a bench role and add locker room character.....but unfortunately GM Darryl Morey doesn't listen to TheEagleman....he won't take my calls.......76ers would rather pay millions of $$$ to washed up older guards like Gordon and Lowry......and this is life in the NBA in 2024....they seem to just be printing money.....James Hardin gets $70 mill for 2 years and Tobias Harris gets $50 mill for the same....both are washed up stiffs.....hard to watch the NBA anymore.....so TheEagleman doesn't..... ORUTerry
I’ve never thought that the NBA was a true meritocracy. Much easier for GM’s to take someone from the P5 schools. They are mostly not going to get second guessed that way.
2014Grad
Max should be fine, I see him signing a two way deal somewhere once training camp starts. I think he’ll have a chance to prove himself, what he does with that is left to be seen! The NBA can be tough, some REALLY REALLY great players just never end up making that breakthrough. theeagleman5
Max has twice as much heart as James Harden and Tobias Harris combined.....
Keenan Henderson
Max showed he can play at the highest level in college basketball: Texas in the Big 12. His numbers did not really dip as far as shooting but Max did score 5 points less than his final season at ORU. If he can do it at Texas then Max should be able to show his skills in the G League and maybe eventually in the NBA.
Old Titan
Max's Utah Jazz summer league schedule this week in Salt Lake City: Mon. 7/8 vs. Memphis Grizzlies - 8:30pm, ESPN Tue. 7/9 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder - 8:30pm, ESPN2 Wed 7/10 vs/ Philadelphia 76ers - 8:30pm, ESPN2 I'll be pleasantly surprised if Max plays in ANY of these games, and stunned if he signs with a G-League team this off-season, much less a 2-way deal with an NBA team and their G-League affiliate. It's just a whole different world at the NBA level...

ORUJason
18 seconds left and Max has not entered the game. 16 players on the roster and only 9 have played for Utah. There is some impressive talent on the Jazz team but they cannot hit a single free throw down the stretch. Max shoots like 90% from the FT line.
