Sounds good, let us go with that! St. Mary's has 8 new players, so you just never know how they will respond on opening night. Yes, they are talented but still inexperienced. Could be great but then again, they could struggle. ORU should have some experience on the Gaels.

theeagleman5
If TheEagleman can get St. Mary's +2 ....well, that would be a no brainer.....would be expecting a line of ORU and at least +10 or more......
Keenan Henderson
Looking at St. Mary's roster and they have some talented guards and wings but unsure about their bigs. At least on paper they did not look like a team that will try and post up the center a lot but mainly rely on their two senior all star guards (Logan Johnson and Alex Ducas). The big question for me is: St. Mary's lost its two top scorers from last year, so how will their offense do against ORU's unknown/sometimes suspect defense? If they come out and lay 80-90 points on the Eagles, then of course it will be a long night but if ORU can keep it around 70 then the game should be close. St. Mary's was 16-0 at home last year, so they are obviously very tough to beat at home. Their gym is like an extra large high school court (only seats around 3,500) but the noise is very loud, according to visiting teams. Just a small scouting report on the Gaels. Getting excited for the new season. Go Eagles!
Keenan Henderson
Now the ORU website has this match up with St. Mary's listed as being televised on the West Coast Conference Network, which represents the league that St. Mary's is in. It looks like it is free as there was no price listed on the internet channel. It will be a late one for you 918 area code guys and of course east coast people. Tip off is 9 PM Tulsa time. Old Titan
The West Coast Conference website shows a different game being broadcast at that time: Pepperdine vs. Rice.

Old Titan
Despite the Tweet from "Mid-Major Madness" that got this post started (stating the game was on ESPN+), it appears at this time there may not be ANY video broadcast or stream. This is from the Saint Mary's website:

Keenan Henderson
A little more scouting on St. Mary's: they went to Australia this summer and won all four games and they also had a blue white scrimmage. So they have had some time to gel with all their newcomers. Plus, according to their roster: the Gaels have 11 players that are 6'6 and above. They remind me of an international team: big, strong, and very solid on defense. Not the most athletic but just know how to win. They seem to grind out a lot of wins or you could say winning ugly. Similar to last year's NDSU team.

Keenan Henderson
Only five days until basketball season starts! It has been a long off season but the St. Mary's game is almost here. For ORU to have any chance to pull an upset they will need Connor to have a good game and be a presence inside. Hoping Max and McBride can drive the lane and then get him the ball for some offense in the paint. That could then open it up to allow the wing shooters to get some good looks. Connor is able and he has had some strong nights versus SEC competition. Just wonder how long it will take for him to gel with the Eagles.
