The University sent out some community emails with this news this morning. Eugene Quaynor (captain of the soccer team), from Ghana was stopped at a red light at 71st and Yale last night when another driver slammed into him. Really tragic. Here's the link from Fox23:

Admins may want to move this thread - but I wanted to be sure people see it.

Prayers for his family, frineds, and the Men's Soccer team. They have already postponed this weekend's match with St. Thomas.

Lord we pray for peace for Quaynor's family and friends as well as the entire ORU family, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Terrible news. Hopefully charges are brought against the driver for driving under the influence. There should be absolutely zero tolerance for that.

Probably a vehicular manslaughter charge of some sort.

Just awful. No words.

If it was a drunk driver, hope they lock him under the jail, for life.
