Keenan Henderson
Was that ORU on the court in the first half? They looked lost in space. Maybe the real players had to walk back from Denver? Just at a loss for words, WIU leads 45-22 at half. Max has his thumb and hand taped up and scored zero points in the first half.
Dr. Cornelius
Max shouldn't be out there. His man is posting him up at will and he is hesitant to shoot. 2nd place in the Summit is probably out the window now.
jmg1984
ORU colder than the Tulsa weather! Better be intense in the 2nd half!

Keenan Henderson
Good comeback in the second half, ORU finally came alive. Just very hard to win when you are down 23 at half. Max with 33 in the second half, that must be a record for points scored in a half. I like seeing Herron out on the floor when the Eagles are running the full court trap. He is long and can make some steals or disrupt passes. Give WIU credit, they hit some big some shots and finished 15-30 from three. The announcer Josh said that was their best three-point shooting game since early December.
ORUIllini
Pathetic! Hopefully a wake up call for the rest of the month and into March.
Keenan Henderson
WIU was pounding the ball inside with that big frontline and then passing out of the double team for open three's. ORU had no answer. In the last three games the Eagles have given up on average 86 points per game. After playing better defense for most of the year, now ORU has gone back to really struggling on that side of the ball. How did the Eagles score 22 in the first and 63 in the second? Would have been interesting to hear Coach Mills halftime speech. Sure it was not pleasant. Max seemed very tentative in the opening 20 minutes. Does anyone know how he hurt his thumb/hand? Old Titan
A few observations on a cold night in a lot of different ways: How many college teams have ever scored 63 points in a half…and lost? How many college players have ever had a 33-point differential in scoring between halves of one game? Once again, ORU has no other options when not hitting threes. Incredibly one-dimensional team right now. Between the “defense” of Weaver and Phipps both inside and out, it’s a wonder ORU didn’t surrender 110 points instead of 90. When you’re having to resort to Herron and Lacis on the defense/offense substations for those two, you know you’re hurtin’ A lot of first-time visitors in the building tonight due to the free ticket giveaway, and it’s a wonder they bothered to stick around for the second half. But they did, and were thoroughly entertained in the second half. The student section was INCREDIBLE. They showed up early and brought the goods for BOTH halves.

ORUTerry
Burn the tape - especially the first half of play…

And come to think of it, maybe go to school studying the film on WIU’s inside-out offense that worked so well in giving them clean looks at threes all night long. Keenan Henderson
It is becoming a big problem for ORU: coming out flat in the first half of home games. They fell behind to 0-11 North Dakota by nine a couple of weeks ago at home and now tonight's game. Coach Mills will have to light a fire under these guys and get them to play better at home. Who would have thought that the Eagles are much better on the road then at home? Very surprising.
Old Titan
It doesn’t appear to be a lack of effort in the first half; it seems more like being unprepared, which is shocking if you listen to tbe details re: pregame scouting that Coach Mills described in his interview on The Blitz this week. Is it possible these teams are throwing new stuff at the Eagles that the coaches didn’t see on tape, or are these opponents just getting wiser to ORU’s style of play and stepping up accordingly?
