theeagleman5 Posted May 13, 2021 Share Posted May 13, 2021 Big Summit series starts Friday afternoon in Omaha.....TheEagleman won't rehash all the possible scenerios but needless to say....ORU needs to get at least a split up there in Nebraska or we run the risk of being passed by the Mavs and NDSU who hosts SDSU this weekend....we can't afford to play poorly.....it's really important that we get off to a good start Friday and must win at least one of those DH games....otherwise the pressure really starts to build....tournament seeding for 2021 not as important as getting the host site advantage for 2022.....it's been since 2018 that the tournament was held in Tulsa.....let's pray that the Good Guys are ready to go....Omaha as the host team is going to be tough to beat this year....and TheEagleman isn't sure he trusts this ORU team yet....not after losing a home game last weekend to WIU which could end up costing ORU first place........ theeagleman5 Posted May 15, 2021 Author Share Posted May 15, 2021 A Friday SWEEP!!!....how sweet it is!!....12-3 and 2-1.....first game a blowout with several HRs by McMurray, Wiley and Jones....Hunter Swift got the win with 4 innings of relief.....game 2 was won on a bases loaded HBP in the 8th....another outstanding mound effort by Issac Coffey with 7 innings of 3 hit baseball giving up just the lone run.....huge day for the Golden Eagles.....the pressure is now all on the Mavs to get the next 2 games....GO BLUE!!!! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

theeagleman5 Posted May 16, 2021 Author Share Posted May 16, 2021 TheEagleman left to go out for some dinner with Mrs. Eagleman at 9-2.... just returned to see the final at 17-12.....Holy smokes!....what a crazy last 3 innings.....Omaha has to be crushed coming back from a 9 run deficit with 10 runs in the 7th and 8th only to give up 3 HRs and a 6 spot to ORU in the 9th.....not sure I have ever heard of anything like it but yeah....that's college baseball....sometimes no lead is safe.....the Wiley 2 run bomb to make it 13-2 was the game winner....Jones and Martinez followed up with HRs to add much needed insurance....so ORU now 26-19 (17-5) and the Mavs are eliminated from any chance at first place.....ORU magic # now just 1 to eliminate NDSU which could happen on Sunday afternoon.....TheEagleman isn't sure the old ticker could have taken watching the final innings of this game.....but the Good Guys come out on top!....bring out the brooms for Sunday....hard to believe that Omaha will have anything left in the tank....time for ORU to go for the jugular.....GO BLUE!!! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
theeagleman5 Posted May 16, 2021 Author Share Posted May 16, 2021 ORU had 7 players with multiple hit games....and 3 guys (Cash, Wiley and Jones) had 4 hits....22 hits total along with 7 walks....that's a ton of baserunners...both teams combined used 13 pitchers....lol....the only ORU pitcher who didn't give up a run was Adam Scoggins who closed out the game.....just nuts....hope the Good Guys are enjoying a real nice late night dinner.....back to work early afternoon on Sunday......
