OKC Eagle
For OKC Eagle & those just wanting to learn more, historically we have used man to man. This attachment will explain why & what it is: Our man-to-man defensive strategy is simple... We want to build a human wall around our basket, and then force the offense to take contested, outside of the paint, jump shots. (sounds like Memphis' weakness) make them live or die by the 3. http://coachlikeapro.tripod.com/basketball/id8.html Sorry Mom. I know what a zone is. It was apparently a poor attempt at a joke. We played 2-1-2 zone exclusively when Sonics won B+ league in intramurals in 1993. I saw our MVP, Dr. Halsmer, on the Yahoo highlight reel (in the stands, of course). Dr. Cornelius
The Iba/Sutton connection is still strong. I think we have the players to execute a lock-down zone (just think of Yemi and Marchello on the wing), we just choose not to. That isn't a slam on our coaches, its just not the style of defense we play.

ORUTerry
Just heard on the news that Eddie Sutton checked into a rehab center sometime today. We need to pray for Eddie and for Scott. I can't imagine how much pressure/strain Scott is under with the NCAA Tournament and his Dad's trouble. Basketball is just a game..... Haha Halsmer gave us fits in B this year. All I have to say is we had the best team in B, and then we beat ourselves in the semi's.... and Halsmer really helped us do that. lol.
