ORU82
Joe Jones could be a very interesting addition to our program. 247Sports has him listed as 6'8"/220 lbs. while VC has him listed as 6'10"/220 lbs. Either way, he is a big young man. His brother is 7'0" Greg Oden who spent a year at Ohio State before going pro. He apparently has had offers from Colgate, Detroit, Canisius, St. Bonaventure, Niagara, Kent State, Buffalo and UMass. He is currently with Orangeville Prep in Mono, Ontario but is from Buffalo, NY. I hope he comes and stays. He certainly has height and a wide wingspan.

Old Titan
So are we supposed to be getting excited about this guy's exploits since he committed several months ago, or worried because he hasn't signed yet and this is bound to draw additional suitors? Both?

Both? If the coaching staff close the deal with Abmas it would be a pretty big deal. Considering the schools who are still recruiting him (verbals aren't worth anything) I would still say it's a long shot.

Dr. Cornelius
Allen's Stevens, Jesuit's Abmas split MVP nod in 9-6A all-district team Quote Jesuit senior Max Abmas and Allen senior Isaiah Stevens willed their respective boys basketball teams to the top of the District 9-6A standings in the 2018-19 season. Fittingly enough, those two shared the district's most prominent accolade. Abmas and Stevens were voted co-MVPs of 9-6A, fresh off a season that saw the Rangers and Eagles tie for first place in the district standings. Jesuit, which earned the top seed via head-to-head tiebreaker over Allen, went on to advance to the regional quarterfinals while the Eagles' playoff campaign lasted until the area round. Their teammates nabbed some all-district superlatives as well, with Jesuit senior Julius Marble recognized as the district's Defensive Player of the Year and Allen junior Thailand Elder awarded Newcomer of the Year. McKinney senior Byron Schoby took home Offensive Player of the Year honors, while teammate and freshman Alex Anamekwe received Freshman of the Year and Jesuit was named Coaching Staff of the Year.
