ORU draws Tennessee again in Knoxville?....that's just hard to believe....oh well....gotta go where the committee sends us....I am sure that the ORU ladies will have a fun experience....we probably weren't gonna have much of a shot at winning anyway....but TheEagleman would at least like to see ORU draw a team on a neutral floor......

Congrats to our ladies!!!  Be sure and read Graham Hays' commentary on the ESPN ladies website.  He has one section in his article about the 5 players to watch during the dance - one is Kevi Luper.  Awesome!!

Playing in Knoxville just means that the Ladies only have to win two games to play in Oklahoma City.

Both Tennessee and ORU will be playing with first-year coaches. You just never know.....

ORU-Tennessee will be telecast live on ESPN2 at 1:30pm EDT on Saturday......can the GoldenEagles shock the world on national TV?....... :eagles:

For the record, last time we played UTK in the tourney, the game was at Purdue.

Nonetheless, I am happy that we got a 15 seed. It wil be a great experience, playing in front of 20,000 people. And, this year's Tennessee team isn't invincible.

Just scanned thru a couple of Lady Vol message boards and player quotes...

Didn't see hardly ANY mention of the ORU game. LOTS and LOTS of talk about being in Baylor's region. Some chatter about their second round match-up with Syracuse. Speculation about how an Elite 8 would be a good result.

Well...if Tennessee is overconfident....we will just need to go into their building and beat them...... :eagles:

No reason why our girls shouldn't go over to Knoxville and play their hearts out....they have nothing to lose....nobody outside of the team likely expects a victory....but ORU is playing with house money....TheEagleman will be watching early tomorrow afternoon on ESPN.....if we can hang in early...the confidence will come.....we can't let the Vols jump out to a big early lead.....still, this is a game that Tennessee should win by 25+.....let's pray for one more big day from Kevi and solid PG play from Jaci......I'll call it Tennessee  80  ORU 64..... :nerd:

The Kevi/Jaci era is now officially over.....ORU battles but falls to the always tough Vols of Tennessee, 83-62.....Kevi leads the Eagles with 20 but just too much Tennessee today....they are a contender for the final four.....the game was NOT televised here back East....they choose to go with Michigan St vs. Marist.....TheEagleman was a bit disappointed....wanted to see it on the large screen and not the computer.... :nerd:

Although the game didn't end like we would have liked, our ladies played their hearts out.  Kevi and Savannah played great and Jaci fought through a stomach bug and competed as hard as she could.  Taylor scored from the inside and outside and showed us what she will be bringing in the year's ahead.  Sarah had 6 blocks and 10 boards and altered several shots.  Tennessee substituted constantly and steadily wore us down.

Our ladies and coaching staff met every objective this season - won the Southland Conference, won the tournament and played in the NCAA tournament.  They represented the school and basketball program like true champions.  Thanks to our seniors for a great four years.  Thanks to our coaching staff for hanging in with the new defensive schemes and making the ladies better players because of it.  Thanks to our team for givinng their very best in every game.

We'll be a new look next year, but I'm confident our coaches will have us prepared for the challenge.

Congratulations Golden Eagles!

Great job by our Ladies program....the players, coaches and staff did a great job until the end.  They represented the University well!!  We have been fortunate to have Kevi, Jaci and Savanna for these past four years and look forward to the future with Taylor, Detti, Sarah, Christian and the new players that Misti and the staff will be recruiting.  The future is bright for our Ladies' program.

Thanks for a great season, Ladies!!

Our future is bright with the new coaching staff. Thanks to the Seniors who gave us a great year and accomplished their goals . They overcame a new system/ new staff and new players who were working to fit the chemistry. This will be the norm for this staff and  the program in the future. Congrats to coaches and players for making ORU proud and their fans!
