ORUalum Posted January 19, 2013 Share Posted January 19, 2013 that was ugly. i only followed the second half, but ORU could not rebound or throw it in the ocean (excluding Bigham). at the end of the day it's a split on the road, but wow was that bad basketball this afternoon. ORU just needs to pick a game and have Luper shoot 30-40 times even if it costs them a game...she is going to have to shoot her way out of this funk. having said all that, they still had a chance late despite playing so poorly. Hoops Fan Posted January 20, 2013 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Two things killed us. We got blown up on the boards - out rebounded 54 to 36. Sequeena Thomas had 20 boards by herself. She played a strong game. And our shooting across the floor was horrible. Kevi, Christian and Taylor combine for 7 of 28 shooting... How do you not win when you only give up 54 points? Shoot 6.7% from the 3-point line and 33% for the game. Jaci played a whale of a game. She did her best to carry us the entire time. The world is going to end? We will drop athletics completely? You will quit coming to games and posting on the message board?!? We lost a game, on the road. Oh no! We are 4-2 in conference. And, we have 7 of the next 9 games at home. We'll continue to work, Kevi will work her way out of the current slump (as great players do), and we'll be in good shape/seeding (and peaking) for the conference tourney. The schemes aren't working, the transition points aren't there, every offensive statistical category is Well below what it should be, currently they r 118th in scoring, well below the top 5 they have grown accustom to! I will, after this post, quit posting on this board. I guess only a few can see what is really happening to this team, commentators from shsu even said they couldn't figure out what the coaching staff was doing fouling their best player while down 1 possession with a minuted and a half left? Continue to enjoy the Cussen kool aid voice, maybe u and manti t'eo should get together and discuss being able to see (or not to see) what is right in front of your face!!!!! Be nice to see a board fully focused to picking our girls up when they are down instead of kicking them and our coaching stuff some more! theeagleman5 Posted January 22, 2013 Author Share Posted January 22, 2013 ....you can't make this stuff up.....7 or the next 9 at home could cure a lot of our ills....TheEagleman would take a 7-2 record in those 9 games....let's pray that Kevi gets out of her current funk....we surely need her to be putting up her usual 20-25 per game in order to win....but still great to see Jaci and Christian playing well....but ORU needs all three if we are going to make the NCAA tournament.....
