Only five days until the first official practice on Friday, October 12th. I love this time of year - as the season looms ahead and every team has hope for a successful year. This should be a good one for ORU - can't wait to get it started!

So....when the first game is played in 3 weeks.....who do you think will be the starting PG?.....Billbury, Jackson or Manghum???.......... :nerd:

Lots of new faces. Let's hope the team finds its chemistry quickly. Returning starters Niles, DBH and Roundtree will provide a nice foundation - along with Shawn Glover, who is penciled in for the wing position. Lliteras and Manghum also bring some continuity.

The new guys: Jackson, Bilbury, Byford, Conley, Kaufman and Emegano (red shirt transfer) have to find their place. Trammel White is an unknown - is he eligible or not?

White's name is NOT on the current roster....So TheEagleman has to assume that the kid is not eligible at least for the first semester.....can upperclassman Manghum be the man to start at PG?....could happen but I am thinking that if this team is going to be REALLY good....we need one of the RS Freshmen, Billbury or Jackson to step up and do the job....Coach Sutton's track record has been to go with the experienced guy in the past.....maybe our spies at practice in the next few weeks can give us out of towners some insight..... :nerd:

A lot of new faces on this roster, who's going to step up for this team as a new contributor? Any of these guys redshirt candidates? Can Emegano play this year?

Emegano is a red-shirt transfer and will not play this year. He will make whoever he is guarding in practice a much better player. The guy can play defense.

It will be interesting to see who (if anyone) is slated to be red-shirted.

The start of practice coincides with ORU's Fall Break so the players and coaches will not be constrained by any time limitations.

Has DBH fully recovered for his late August ankle sprain?.... :nerd:

I guess we can safely say that Trammel White is eligible and will play for ORU this year.

Wow!...so Trammel White is wearing #1 and possibly our starting PG???....how come he is not listed on the roster?.....that's an interesting addition to the team.....and where do we stand on scholarships?...TheEagleman is suprised that our on campus spies don't have more light to shed on this development..... :nerd:

So.........according to the article on ORUgoldeneagles.com today regarding the first practice...our head coach is SEAN Sutton.....he is quoted as saying that "our first practice was good".....hummmmm....did Scott leave and nobody told us?.....TheEagleman is a bit shocked...... ;-)

Two days of practice in the books and JC transfer Trammel White is STILL not listed on ORUgoldeneagles.com as being on the roster....are we trying to hide this from UTEP?......TheEagleman sees this as a brilliant move by "new" head coach Sean Sutton and will surely catch the Miners by surprise in the opener.....this is something that former coach Scott Sutton never would have tried..... ;-)
