EaglesFan Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Tonights game with SUU is a lot more "interesting" than any of us anticipated! Kevi Luper and Savanah Buck stayed in Tulsa with some kind of stomach virus, so the lineup we are seeing for this game is "different". The game is at halftime, and from watching on the SUU video feed, the game is very sloppy -- on both sides. ORU Shooting is very poor (22%), lots of fouls on key players, out rebounded 21-14. Some of the "reserves" are getting a lot of playing time and experience. The game result is meaningless to the seedings for Sioux Falls, but it would give us that 20th victory, and "positive momentum" going into the tournament. Maybe it is a commentary on how important Kevi Luper is to the team chemistry ... We have other good players, but they sure aren't playing like a team with fire in their eyes. SUU has had an awful year, and aren't that good. Game will be decided in the second half ... and ORU will have to come from way behind. Half time score: SUU - 33; ORU 22. Awful shooting, Turnovers, Sloppy Play .... but created lots of turnovers off of steals, to keep us from being rolled by a bad SUU team. It doesn't hurt that SUU was even more awful in the 2nd half. It was painful to watch such a sloppy outing. Glad we won, but we never really "put them away". It was a struggle throughout. Final was 54-47 for ORU. Add to that our missing players, and it was a VERY SWEET WIN! Hey, do you guys remember what happened to Jaci up there last year that Geoff was talking about?
