Bogus Smith
Based on the condition and direction of the TU basketball program and their desire to keep this at the beginning weekend of the basketball season, as an ORU fan I look at this game as another exhibition game - just like playing NSU or Oklahoma Wesleyan. No importance, no meaning - especially when it's not played at a time when your team is not in its prime conditioning to see who really is the "Sheriff" in town. Mike Carter can't make TU play us. The court system can but, as Dr. Gillen has taught us, "at what price glory". Mr. Carter has made lemonade out of a lemon. TU's lack of renumeration for breach of contract and their attitude towards the series just shows their lack of class and integrity (IMHO). Dr. Cornelius
Playing TU isn't that important. We should have ended the series when it was apparent they weren't interested. The first priority is ORU Athletics. Not keeping TU happy. We basically wasted any leverage we had in the negotiation and gave them all the dates they wanted and let them out of the payment. It's just bizarre & really awful for the entire program. It's terrible PR.

Old Titan
So, TU released their schedule and replaced the ORU game with........wait for it...... AT Jackson State. WOW! Really? Yeah, I love how they tried to spin it: a gift to junior Scottie Harralson, who is from Jackson, MS. Really, guys? Scheduling a hometown game for a guy who almost lost his starting spot last season after going scoreless in two straight conference games? Even your own fans are calling BS on that one, seeing as how in four years Wojcik never played a game closer than El Paso to star Ben Uzoh's hometown of San Antonio. Hear's what's funny: Jackson State went 9-3 at home last year. They don't suck, they just have the usual challenges in scheduling that everyone in the SWAC has: lots of non-conference guarantee games to raise money makes the record look worse. And now they get a Conference USA team to come down there and play them on their home floor? Upset alert!
