ORU pitcher Alex Gonzalez goes into his first NCAA regional this week the rarest of college baseball players - a freshman who has been there and done that.

Expectations are high for Golden Eagles' youthful ace because he's been fast-tracked for greatness.

It's not yet known whether Gonzalez will start in Friday's 7 p.m. first-round game against top-seed TCU or if he'll be held back for a second-round (or elimination) game Saturday against either Oklahoma or Dallas Baptist......

Gonzalez is the man!...he had a really good year but has much bigger days on the horizon....if we can get a few big bats around him and Bowen, TheEagleman could see Cheech leading ORU into a Super Regional in the near future....maybe even a CWS???.... :ugeek:
