ron
Winnipeg has waited a long time for the NHL to come back. After not being able to pry the team loose from Phoenix, A True North consortium led by Mark Chipman have returned the NHL to Winnipeg by purchasing the Atlanta Thrashers. The name for the team is not clear yet. A lot of people would like to see the new team use the old moniker, Winnipeg Jets. Whatever the team is called, it is great to be back on the big league hockey board!

Keep those name suggestions coming, eagleman. If there's anything good in there I'll submit it and we can split the proceeds. Someone has suggested Winnipeg Flood. We poke fun at ourselves up here. Dr. Cornelius
First home game is tonight... my in-laws have season tickets at center ice, second level. It will be hard to make up the 13 or so points to make the playoffs this season but should be fun anyway. Go Jets Go!
