Caleb was named MMB of the Day on Saturday for his 27 and 15 against Valpo, and is in the running for the weekly honor. This website (the Mid-Majority blog) has been discussed here before. There are only 27 votes right now, so we can have a big influence.

Go to http://www.midmajority.com/, scroll to the bottom and pick Caleb.

To see the blurb on Caleb as MMB of the day (complete with picture and his stat line from the Valpo game), go to: http://www.midmajority.com/mmbod.php. Here's the text:

February 25, 2006

30 Caleb Green - Oral Roberts F, Jr.

IUPUI had the hot 11-1 start and all the headlines (well, here anyway), crimping Oral Roberts' hopes of avenging their agonizing near-miss in last year's tourney. But on the last day of league play, ORU (18-11, 13-3) took advantage of an untimely IUPUI two-game skid, claimed a slice of the regular season championship, and clinched the tourney one-seed. Talk about "faith-based" basketball.

A lot of ORU's recent resurgence been due with the return from a month-long DL stint -- and return to form -- of speedy guard Ken Tutt (18 pts. yesterday), but it was the other Wonder Twin Power that sealed this one. There's certainly nothing cheap about a 27 and 15 dub-dub, his league-leading 15th of the year. He had more O-rebounds than D (8-7), and even though he went 9-of-16 from the line, his 214 FTM's for the year broke a school record.

Nice find, ORUTex! I hadn't checked Mid-Majority for a while, but I've thought that Caleb has deserved Baller of the Day several times before.

Did anybody lobby Kyle to get Caleb up for Baller of the Day? Back when Caleb had several games where he scored 30+, I intended to do just that. I never got around to it.

As of a little while ago, Caleb was only 3 votes out of the lead, so get everybody you can to vote Caleb in.

Update - Caleb now leads with 39 out of 104 votes (next highest is 18). But keep encouraging interested college basketball fans to submit legitimate votes.

From Mid-Majority Baller of the Day page:

"Every day we name a Mid-Major Baller Of The Day - the previous night's best performance against the best possible competition (50-point performances over Bottom 25 RPI teams need not apply). Every Monday, the voting public makes its decision as to who the Baller Of The Week was. Voting closes Thursdays. Please note that the final decision is made by Bally, and that he takes things like message board ballot-stuffing campaigns into account. "

We better be careful!
