Baseball at Texas tonight

It's 64 and very overcast/foggy in Austin today. The forecast says 76 with scattered thunderstorms at gametime, with a 30% chance of rain all night. I'm going to try to head over and hope to stay dry. Here's a link to the game preview on the UT site: Texassports.com ORU preview. They will also have Gametracker available (click on the "schedule/results" link).

Hope they get the game in, Tex....would be nice if ORU could win down there but maybe it's too much to ask 2 yrs in a row.....wonder who is throwing for the good guys tonight?...maybe 2-3 innings of Bowen?... :ugeek:

sounds like texas is going to see most of the pitching staff tonight. gonzo puts them down 1-2-3 in the first.

Close, but couldn't get it done - final score 2-1 Texas. ORU out hit UT 7 ot 3, but couldn't score their base runners. Too bad.

Tough 2-1 loss for the good guys....UT only gets 3 hits and we still lose giving up 2 early runs....bats never came alive....went down to the final out with the tying run on base.... :(

. . . and in other action around the Summit League:

Baseball: SDSU 7, Iowa 4, Final in 14 innings. Yes, 14. Eric Cain's 3-run double on 3-2 pitch in 14th wins it for Jacks.

Is Iowa any good? Would imagine they haven't been outside much this season.

On another note: Can you remember an ORU team that needed runs so badly, leaving the bases loaded so often?

We need to start working on the suicide squeeze, or stealing home, or just diving in front of pitches - ANYTHING to get that runner in from third! :-P
