tmh8286
“Last year’s WNIT was the first experience for this group, and it was hard for them to appreciate the value of postseason play,†Feinbeiner said. “This year, our team understands how special this opportunity is, and we look forward to the chance to compete.†Jerry has talked several times about last year's team not "valuing" the WNIT experience. There must be a story there - a high degree of frustration on his part regarding their preparation or play, or something. He made the same comment in the post-game press conference after the loss to Oakland in SF.
ORUalum
For three facing swan songs, TCU women have to mute high-scoring ORU Helena Sverrisdottir was a freshman starter the one and only time TCU played in the Women's National Invitational Tournament in 2008. She has fond memories of two victories and an overtime loss at Colorado in the quarterfinals that year. Now, as a senior, with teammates Emily Carter and Micah Garoutte, who also played on the '08 team, Sverrisdottir wants to stretch her Horned Frogs career a few games longer. That quest starts at 6:30 tonight against Oral Roberts (21-10) at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Golden Eagles won the Summit League regular-season title behind the nation's leading scorer, Kevi Luper, who averages 24.1 points and 3.7 steals per game..... star-telegram

tmh8286
Congrats to the Lady Eagles on a great win tonight! They dealt with a certain level of adversity with the shot clock breaking down as they were in the middle of a run that was threatening to put the Horned Frogs away for good. According to Geoff Haxton, FIRST POST-SEASON WIN EVER for an ORU women's team. Pretty big deal!! Not only that, it's looking their next game will be AT MABEE CENTER! That would be incredible.
