ORUTerry
Mike Brown's Blog - Tulsa World 11/29/2010 2:22:00 AM (excerpt) ORU head coach Scott Sutton said he never told Damen Bell-Holter not to shoot 3-pointers, but the 6-foot-9 center attempted fewer and fewer last season. He made only 2-of-17 attempts in his freshman season and shot only five times from behind the arc over the final three months of the season. So it was surprising that Bell-Holter made three in one game Saturday as the Golden Eagles upset Utah 78-70. He scored two of the Eagles’ first three baskets with his first attempts of 2010-11, and with ORU nursing a four-point lead in the final minute, made the biggest trey of the Eagles’ still-young season. “We’ve never told him not to shoot,” Sutton said. “He shot some last year, (and) he wasn’t very consistent, but (against Utah) he was wide open and they were playing way off of him. He got a great look at the first one and he jumped up and knocked it down, and a few possessions later, he got another great look.”................
