During his team's trip to the Dominican Republic in May, Oral Roberts women's basketball coach, Jerry Finkbeiner, saw an opportunity he couldn't afford to pass up.

"What we found were people who were so receptive to what we had to offer - basketballs and Bibles," Finkbeiner said. "I just wanted to go back. It had nothing to do with recruiting. We just wanted to share hope and basketball and continue to introduce the sport to children, especially young girls who just don't have a whole lot of opportunity sportswise......

Great story...and Coach Fink must be a very good guy....TheEagleman would love to meet him when the team comes to Philly in November..... :)

Got a chance to know Coach Fink while playing with the girls scout team while I went to school. He is not only a great coach but also a phenomenal human being. ORU is lucky to have a guy of his character in our athletic department.
