Smolen twirled a pitching gem, a complete-game effort with 11 strikeouts, as ORU defeated Centenary 4-2 in the first round of the Summit League Tournament at J.L. Johnson Stadium. "That's the best game I've seen him throw in his career," said ORU coach Rob Walton, "and he stepped up in a perfect moment."
