ORU kicked off its 2010 Payback Tour on Thursday night, and junior Bryce Smolen was the Golden Eagles' headline performer.

Smolen twirled a pitching gem, a complete-game effort with 11 strikeouts, as ORU defeated Centenary 4-2 in the first round of the Summit League Tournament at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

"That's the best game I've seen him throw in his career," said ORU coach Rob Walton, "and he stepped up in a perfect moment."

I'd say the tour was a great success.
