ttowncount Posted April 23, 2010 Share Posted April 23, 2010 Just came from there. Very nice. Dr. Rutland presided. Chamber singers sang a version of "All Creatures Great and Small." Sharon spoke and shared a bit of how Billy Joe came here and how ORU had influenced his life. The new street signs were unveiled one at a time on Dr. Rutland's cue, and he presented a street sign on a wooden plaque to commemorate the day and for Sharon to display at the church (or "carry in her purse" as Dr. R quipped!). Mart Green spoke briefly and appropriately. Very cloudy skies but not raining. Nice, but fairly small crowd. Today would have been Billy Joes' 58th birthday.
