AUSTIN, Texas — With one swing, Jared Schlehuber helped erase 27 years of frustration for Oral Roberts baseball.

Schlehuber's pinch-hit home run in the top of the eighth inning proved to be the difference as Oral Roberts defeated No. 7 Texas 3-2 on Tuesday at Disch-Falk Field.

The win snapped ORU's 15-game losing streak to the Longhorns, and extended the Golden Eagles' winning streak to six.

ORU's last victory over Texas came in 1983, long before any of ORU's players were born.

Not a single mention of the "lowly" Golden Eagles in the whole article.

It just shows that even the best teams in the country (should we really call them that after lowly ORU beat them at home???) can have bush-league beat writers following them.

Accordong to boydsworld.com, ORU's rpi is back to 84. Not bad for a lowly team, but not as good as we ultimately want to be. Great win for the good guys. Congrats!
