Jackrabbits fall

The Sioux Falls Arena became a more neutral site when IPFW knocked off South Dakota State 71-66 in Sunday's early men's quarterfinal game.

SDSU's rabid, capacity throng from nearby Brookings huffed and puffed, but couldn't blow down the Mastodons, who reached the semifinals for the second time in three years.

"When they made a couple of runs, it got really loud, and I think it rattled us a little," said guard Zach Plackemeier. "But when we got a timeout or something, we said, `Hey, we gotta keep poised'."

IPFW plays top-seeded Oakland at 6 p.m. Monday.....
