ORU's Luper named Summit League player of the year

Oral Roberts freshman Kevi Luper was named Summit League player of the year, newcomer of the year and defensive player of the year, the conference announced Thursday.

Luper’s 25.6 season scoring average is fourth best in the nation in women’s basketball. In addition, she shot 46 percent from the field, 33 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent at the free throw line.

She was joined on the Summit League’s first team and all-freshman teams by teammate Jaci Bigham, who led the league in assists (5.6 per game) and second in scoring (17.1).
