Larry Owens had a season-high 37 points as the 66ers knocked off Maine on Thursday.

Thursday's early start seemed to suit Larry Owens and the Tulsa 66ers just fine.

Tulsa scored a season-high 35 points in the first quarter and jumped out to a 21-point first-half lead on its way to a 113-107 NBA Development League decision over the Maine Red Claws at the Tulsa Convention Center before a Kids Day crowd of 3,022.

A big part of Tulsa's early success came thanks to Owens, who had 23 points in the first half on his way to a season-high 37 points, including a critical driving basket with 1:27 to play that helped the 66ers subdue a late Red Claw comeback....

66ers down Curry, Springfield

Moses Ehambe in the first half and Larry Owens in the second half combined to give the Tulsa 66ers a 107-101 win Thursday night against former Oklahoma State standout JamesOn Curry's Springfield Armor at the Convention Center.

Ehambe had 15 first-half points, helping Tulsa build a 47-41 halftime lead. Owens, with 11 first half points of his own, helped break the game wide open with 10 of Tulsa's 38 third quarter points, catapulting Tulsa to a 85-67 lead at the end of the frame.

"That's ORU for you," Ehambe said. "That's what they teach us out there, just shoot the ball."

Ehambe finished the game with 26 points and Owens had 21.
