Catholic Relief Services Catholic Relief Services has an office in Haiti that is still standing, even though a neighboring building collapsed. Food For The Poor In 2008 over 97% of donations went directly to directly their programs in aid to the poor. They currently serve in Latin America and the Caribbean. By BILL SHERMAN World Religion Writer Published: 1/16/2010 2:24 AM Oral Roberts University student Jean Voltaire waited two days to learn that his family members in Haiti were uninjured in Tuesday's earthquake, but are living in the street. For those two days, he said, he prayed with ORU friends and others for his family's safety. Finally, at noon Thursday, he got through to a friend who was able to hand his cell phone to Voltaire's sister. "It was a big relief," he said.
