ORU still rolling by 73-54 with just six minutes remaining....heading for a big win over the defending Summit champs on the road.... ;)

Very sweet win for the ladies this evening, winning 81-72. First home conference loss for the Jackrabbits since joining the Summit League.

Congrats to Coach Finkbeiner and Co. for a great game plan, and congrats to the players for a game well played.

That is certainly a huge road win for ORU...lots of character coming back after a very tough loss on Saturday in a game we probably should have won at NDSU....who would have thought at the beginning of the season that the ORU ladies would win at SDSU and the men would lose?.... ;)

Very excited to have Jaci and Kevi for 3-1/2 more years. When you have your top scorer making ONLY 20 points while the "sidekick" gets 34 points, there's not a whole lot to be disappointed about. Both of those ladies have game and complement each other well. Put a couple of ladies that can take care of the inside game when Janae graduates after this year (not that Jordan Pyle isn't doing a good job already) and we're going to be a very good team for a few years to come. If you haven't been out to see the women play some basketball this year (or if you are coming to Homecoming from out-of-town), it's worth two hours of your time to watch them - they are very entertaining with their "stealing" defense and remarkable shooting. Congrats on a good night tonight, Ladies!

Great win for the ladies! It sounded like they got back into rhythm and played up tempo basketball. Nice to get the split in the Dakotas.

As an SDSU Fan, I could not agree more. Your two newcomers surprised our ladies a great deal. Preparing for ORU in the future will be different than what the game plan has been in the past. Congratulations to ORU.

Congratulations on a well-earned victory. I thought your team's movement on offense was extrememly impressive. It got them open shots pretty much at will from anywhere on your offensive end of the floor. I'll look forward to seeing if our team can come up with an answer later this season.

Do some college women's team not do any advance scouting, or not have access to independent scouting reports like the men do?

ORU's women have been playing this "drive-and-kick-out" style all year, including the two conference games with SUU and UMKC back in December, and just 48 hours earlier in Fargo.

Surprised that it was such a surprise... :|

SDSU is the class of the league and had not lost a home Summit game prior to last night's game.

"We probably have more respect for them than we do for ourselves based on what they've done the last three or four years," said Golden Eagles coach Jerry Finkbeiner, whose team hadn't been within 20 points of SDSU in any of the three previous meetings in South Dakota.

That is a pretty big improvement considering ORU led from start to finish. Big win.

It shows how a quality program like SDSU's women's basketball program can have the effect of pushing all (most? some?) of the league schools to improve. That has happened with ORU and apparently NDSU too.

you would think so, but in the pregame show against OSU, Luper admitted that she hadn't seen any tape on the cowgirls. That suprised me.

What the saying, Terry?? A rising tide raises all ships?? Sounds like it definitely has an effect on those that want and are capable of being competitive.
