TrueBlue82
The initial USA Today Coaches Poll is out, with Kansas selected as the overwhelming choice for top-ranked team (27 of 31 first-place votes). Of note - only one ORU 09/10 opponent was listed amongst the Top 25 (Louisville at 23), while three others (Missouri, Wake Forest, and Tulsa) were included in the thirty additional "also receiving votes" selections. I found it surprising that the poll is comprised of only 31 coaches - and that the elite coaches included Doug Wojcik of Tulsa, Arkansas' John Pelphrey, and our own Scott Sutton. For all the intentions to have a balanced national group of pollsters, I'm surprised that they allow "Green Country" coaches to have this level of influence. It will be interesting to see if any of these four teams (or any others) will be ranked at the time they face ORU. We have a great opportunity to make some "noise" this year, with two of those four games scheduled in the Mabee Center.
theeagleman5
TheEagleman expects Mizzou to be ranked early and I have also seen TU in some top 25 polls....they could be there when we play them in January.....that would put some extra juice in the Mabee Center match up....
