Matt York / Associated Press (excerpt) By MIKE TULUMELLO World Correspondent 6/1/2009 Last Modified: 6/1/2009 3:52 AM TEMPE, Ariz. — Oral Roberts fell short Sunday night, bowing out to powerful Arizona State, 8-3, in the championship round of the NCAA regional in Tempe, Ariz. Trying to force a deciding game Monday night, ORU carried 3-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning against the national No. 5 seed ASU. But they couldn't finish it off, as ASU scored seven unanswered runs. Thus ends the season at 33-15 for Oral Roberts, a year that was a rebuilding job because of the loss of several players to the pros and because of a host of early injuries. "A really strange year, but also rewarding," said coach Rob Walton, who also noted the Eagles had to endure about a dozen rainouts......
