orustatboy Posted January 31, 2006 Share Posted January 31, 2006 Turek Picks Up Conference Honor Mid-Con Media Relations 01/31/2006 Oral Roberts University junior forward Elisha Turek (Council Bluffs, Iowa) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week after leading the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 mark last week. Turek claims Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors after leading the Golden Eagles to a pair of Mid-Con wins last week, including a victory over league-leading Western Illinois that snapped the nation's longest home court winning streak. The junior forward was 4-for-8 from the field and finished with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the WIU win. In Monday's 72-50 victory over Centenary, Turek continued her solid play with a team-best 19 points to go along with nine rebounds and two steals.
