Irish333
Looks like Cal State's pitcher Daniel Renken is the real deal even though he is only a Sophomore. He beat Jeff Inman of Stanford and Andrew Oliver of OK State. He has started 4 games and appears to be their Friday night pitcher. So they aren't tossing us any bones by throwing a Sophomore. Jeff Inman is the real deal for Stafford. He pitched with ORU's Sullivan on the Y-D Red Sox this summer. Andrew Oliver - well, lets just say he'll go in the draft if he doesn't get injured. So this will be a real test for Sullivan. IMHO the key to beating Renken is to make him work the count. 6-8 pitches per at bat would be a dream, but something to work for. Looking at the games he has pitched in, they rarely let him go more than 7 innings. If we can't get to him, it appears that their bullpen is hittable for a run or two late in the game. This should be a pitchers duel and an exciting game to follow.Sullivan has to bring his A game as their hitters are stacking up some real numbers. This game could also be decided in the field as well. Errors could make the difference in the game. Small Ball will be key. Can't wait till first pitch. Looking at Cal State's web site, it appears that Big West TV will be broadcasting 1 or 2 of the games. Not sure how you can access the site though. 14.95$
ORUTerry
Wonder if the Big West Network is on DirecTV? I know the Mountain West is. This should be a great test for ORU baseball - and for our pitching. Let's hope our hitters can give Sullivan and the other hurlers some breathing room early.
