Irish333
Has anyone done any scouting on DBU for this series?
Irish333
It appears that the starters for tomorrows game are Jerry Sullivan vs. Jared Stafford. Jared Stafford 1-1 2.25 ERA 20.0 IP Jared Pitched on Feb 21st and lost a tough one. He left the game after 7 innings DBU bullpen gave up 2 runs in the top of the eighth, DBU responded in the bottom of the eighth with a single run. Final score 3-1. 7 innings pitched 1 hit, 1 run, 0 ER, 1 BB and 6K's. Jared pitched again on Feb 27th, securing the win over Siena. 13-3. pitched 6.0 innings, 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 earned runs, 1BB and 5K's. Jared next pitched on March 6th with a No Decision against Oakland. DBU won 12-9. Jared left the game after 7 innings with a 9-6 lead. DBU bullpen gave up the tying runs, and DBU answered with 3 runs to win it. 7 IP, 7 hits, 6 runs, 3 earned runs, 2 BB and 3 K's. Last outing a bit shaky, but he still pitched well enough to win. Sounds like we can win easily if we can get to the DBU bullpen. Sullivan should keep us in the game for a solid 6 or 7 innings. Our hitters will have to be on top of their game as Jared does not issue many walks. Not sure what game Victor Black will be pitching in. He last pitched to Rice as DBU lost that game 13-6. Black had given up 3 earned runs after 5 innings pitched, DBU trailing 3-2 moved ahead in the bottom of the 5th inng 4-3. DBU bullpen then proceeded to allow 10 runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings. Next DBU pitcher is most likely Chris McMullen. 4.74 ERA, 3-0, 19 IP, 9K's. I think they will in it to win it. We should prevail in all three games. GO EAGLES. ORUTex
Not sure what game Victor Black will be pitching in. Good info and analysis, Irish. Update on the quoted part above: Victor Black pitched 6 innings today against Texas Tech, a game that DBU won 11-2. So double good news - they get another decent win to help our RPI, and Black is burned for our series (although he could make a relief appearance Saturday, I suppose). ORUTex
Also, DBU has now scored 10 or more runs in 9 of its 13 games. Granted, most of those were against Oakland and Siena, and Tech does not look great this year. TCU shut them out. But it's still going to take some quality pitching to keep them down. And on the positive side, they're 1-3 when they don't score at least 10.
