A highly-regarded player out of Tulsa Memorial High School two seasons ago (2006-2007), his brother John played four seasons for ORU prior to Marcus coming on the Golden Eagles' team. After a fairly successful freshman season with limited playing time, Marcus went to play with the Longhorns where the grass seemed greener. His transfer was also the year after Michael Holliman left the Longhorns to play for ORU, so Marcus in essence became the "player to be named later" in the "trade" as I'm sure Auggie was interested in taking one of ORU's better players. Today, Marcus is no longer with the Longhorns (after one season) as noted in this article from the Statesmen.com and his name isn't listed on the roster. Sometimes athletes get very bad advice from different people and have to live with the decisions made. Ben Petralli is another that could fall into this category.
