ORUTerry
Sutton emphasizes defense By MIKE BROWN World Sports Writer 12/6/2008 Last Modified: 12/6/2008 2:26 AM (excerpt) Scott Sutton said he wants to see his Oral Roberts basketball team get more defensive. The Golden Eagles allowed 55 second-half points in an 83-75 loss at North Dakota State on Thursday night. NDSU scored on its first seven possessions after intermission. "We've got to get better, and it's not just one man," Sutton said. "We've got several guys who need to buy into playing better defense as a team and commit themselves to getting better individually." ............ tmh8286
The last two games our offense has been good - as I pointed out elsewhere, we scored eighty three points against Mizzou. We've scored seventy five against La-La and NDSU, which is enough to win many games. It's our inability to keep the other guys from scoring that is hurting us right now. As the article states, the coaches are well aware of this fact and will no doubt be working hard on solving this problem in practice.
